Here's a small hint. Take it for what it's worth, or don't. It's up to you.
You have found a 'comfort envelope'. literally, in your light tent. But that tent is killing your shots. Move out and explore diffused directional lighting with fill.
Food is all about texture, shape and colour, which flat lighting will not play up to the best of your subject's advantage.
