Sony has announced the NEX-7, a new 24-megapixel enthusiast-oriented compact system camera (CSC) with a built-in electronic viewfinder, as well as a second new CSC, the 16-megapixel NEX-5N, and two new 24-megapixel cameras, the SLT-A77 and the SLT-A65, which use the company's translucent mirror SLR-like design. All four cameras use APS-C format CMOS sensors. Also announced are three new lenses for the NEX system, including a Carl Zeiss Sonnar T* E 24mm f/1.8; a new DT 16-50mm f/2.8 SSM zoom lens for the Alpha series SLR models; and, for the NEX models, an Alpha lens adapter that enables phase-detection autofocus as well as a new electronic viewfinder for the NEX-5N.
