RIP Dith Pran

Dith Pran, a photojournalist for The New York Times whose struggle to survive the murderous regime of Khmer Rouge-era Cambodia was depicted in 'The Killing Fields', died on Sunday. Left, Mr. Dith in April 1975, the month that the Khmer Rouge gained control of the country.

Rest in Peace Mr Pran. May the horrors of the Khmer Rouge never happen again.

Thanks for sharing that Swampthing.

Not many photographers know about Dith Pran, or even remember the movie, 'The Killing Fields'. To be frank, I had forgotten entirely.

Looking through the links, it reminds me of the fragility of life, and the atrocities of 'humans', and made me think about what's precious in life.

I am once again humbled and reminded ...

Sadly, such wishes seem unattainable. Bosnia & Rwanda are just two recent examples, with some people saying Burma and Iraq are getting there too. Human nature being what it is, I think there will be more to come.
