I've asked about the price of Sigma 30mm f1.4 & it's around $730 at Funan. Is it good time to buy it?
I'm buying it to shoot photos of my coming baby. Not wanting to use flash on him.
I'm worried of its focusing problem experienced by many buyers

Any other alternatives at the same aperture & around that focal length? I'm using 450D body

Thanks

Indeed, there's some problem with the focusing. The closest lens is probably the 28mm f/1.8.

If you're worried about front/back focusing, you can always bring it to Sigma with your camera to have it calibrated. It's a free service though you need to make an appointment and it takes about 2-3 hours.

Also, if you don't mind buying a grey set then OP I think sells it for $670.

Thanks for the replies

How about the focusing performance of the lens in low light conditions (assuming no focusing problem)? I intend to shoot wedding dinner with this lens too :)
