Hi,

Seems like this forum has been quiet for the longest time.. so just to share a review I've just done on the M240 camera and its relevance of it in 2018 with the M10-P's release.

Link is here. if you are interested.

A very good and simple review. Certainly encompasses the rangefinder experience well with this

the manual focusing system on the M needs getting used to, experienced users will swear by it while inexperienced uses will swear at it

Seeing the prices of the M240 today, it is indeed “good value” (in the Leica sense) as it’s pretty much as good a camera as it was back in 2013. Definitely worth considering for those wanting to enter into the full frame digital rangefinder world and not want the CCD sensor.

And actually it’s not triple generations behind if you add the M246 and M262. Maybe the former will tempt you too?

hi bro,

Thanks for taking the time to reply and read ;) Man, you are right about the M246 and M262 and I've missed including them. To me the M240's current prices now (preowned) is pretty good value for money for someone to start too. :)

nice bottom plate u have there :p

u rubbed it against sand paper yourself ? LOL

Great article and review.

I've owned the M240 for a few years now and am still happy with it despite its limited ISO range.
It is still a conversation centerpiece whenever I meet fellow photographer.
I would normally set the shutter speed, ISO and white balance to Auto and fire away.
The only setting that I would be controlling are the aperture and exposure compensation.

I also owned the M10 a few days before the release of the M10-P and find the M240 complements the M10.

Sometime I have to remind myself the M240 shutter will not trip immediately from "sleep" mode

with Nikon 400mm f2.8 AIS+adapter
Ghosting is from building glass panel.
