Review : Extension Tubes vs Reversed-lens

There were some questions regarding the use of extension tube(s) vs reversing of a lens, so I decided to do a small review to help you people out. As I have limited number/sizes of ext tubes, the 2 shots could not achieve a 100% identical reproduction ratio.

Shot using Nikon 50/1.4 AFD @f11, auto white balance. Straight out of camera (other than resizing/cropping).

Using Kenko Extension tubes 20mm + 36mm.

is that noise i see on the ext tube? the mottled blue and red on the black letters.
Wonder wat iso was this shot at?

I agree that it does seem reverse is sharper and image quality better.

ISO100 for both shots. CA tends to be a common problem with ext tubes .
