Hi

i dun remember seeing so many nice street photos until recently in hwz forums, and then, now here.....

is there a resurgence in street photography or wat? :p

Well, coming from the PoV of a Coolpix 950 user, the Coolpix series does make a very, very, very good street photography camera as you can easily shoot from the waist without the subject noticing. I did a number of this while in Yunnan, China. The swivel is ideal for this! Even the CP5000 with flip/swivel LCD doesn't handle as well as a 9xx in such situations. Besides, a 9xx is relatively small, unlike an SLR. :)

Agreed. The shoot-from-the-hip swivel cannot be beat. But the real reason you don't see many D30 pictures is simply that I have had the CP990 for about a year longer than the D30, which I have only had for about 3 months. If you look at the DSCN numbers, I've turned over 9999 once already. That's why I now rename all my files with a unique eight digit number. That should tide me over for the next 5 years or so...
