I always go to the Toa Payoh's AMK Photo (Kodak). The staff tells me to set the settings to 1600X1200 for 4R photos. Does that means it machine depending for the resolution/ aspect ratio? So if I go other places I have note what machines they using then set it that settings?

No those may be "recommended resolutions" for Kodak machines. For Frontier labs (FDIs), I think they accept 1024x768 for 4Rs. But since 1024x768 is a 4:3 aspect ratio, you will have some cropping. Hence Zerstorer's post to set to a 3:2 ratio. As for what machine is used, it does not matter. Be it Fuji Frontier (FDIs), Kodak S88 or Noritsu (Kodak labs), Agfa (HotPrints) or Gretag (E-Color), the aspect ratio remains. See my earlier post.

Yes. Just ask for 2R size. But I do not know if Kodak labs print those. I use only Fuji FDI, those are Frontier labs, they definitely can provide such a size. If you want, you can look for SK Tan at the next SEED and ask him lor. He's got a Frontier.
FYI - 2Rs come in pairs so as to fit the paper or something.
