It will be possible...but cost wise, not sure if you think it's worth it..

Nikkor 17-55 -> $35 per day...
2 weeks = $490

Top abit more and you can easily get a 2nd hand 17-50..

buy new and sell it away after your holiday will not lost so much,
but seriously you will not want to bring a 17-55f2.8 on a holiday tour, unless you are shooting for money.

Personally I feel the 17-50mm tamron F/2.8 matches weight, price and sufficient quality factors for traveling. But if I own a 17-55mm, it's definitely going into the plane.
