The Flagship Model of the CONTAX 35-mm Manual Focus Single-Lens Reflex System

Kyocera Corporation (President: Yasuo Nishiguchi) has announced a new release of the CONTAX RXII, the flagship model of the 35-mm MF (manual focus) single-lens reflex system.

Product name: CONTAX RXII
Release date: November 5, 2002
Recommended retail price: RXII body 132,000 yen (plus tax)
Sales target: 1,000 units/month (Total domestic and overseas sales)

The soon-to-be-released CONTAX RXII is a successor to the CONTAX RX, which went out of production last June. The CONTAX RXII is positioned between the CONTAX RTSIII, the professional 35-mm MF single-lens reflex camera and the CONTAX Aria, an easy-to-use beginner's model for the CONTAX 35-mm MF single-lens reflex system. The CONTAX RXII adopts the metallic body of the CONTAX RX, and features an enhanced viewfinder that provides clear and easy-to-see view of the subject due to an increase in light quantity. The CONTAX RXII has a new two-second self-timer setting in addition to the conventional ten-second self-timer setting.
The CONTAX RXII also features the Carl Zeiss T* lens with its legendary sharpness and acutance. We hope that the new CONTAX RXII will win favor of amateurs and enthusiasts alike as a standard model.
