Have any of you guys ever recover files from a SDHC successfully?
I was transferring some of the files from a SDHC, and it has an error msg.
After that, my card's corrupted. My camera prompted me to format the card.

The only way out is, format the card. And there are still some files I've not backup yet..
Anyone out there has successfully recover data using a program? Any recommendation ? :(

Soft Logica's Handy Recovery

You have to buy the full version though. The trial version only allows you to recover one file/ day

Only tried on portable hard discs, Micro Drives and CF cards though

PC Inspector, SoftPerfect and PhotoRec in order of preference.
Both PC Inspector and Softperfect are freeware. Photorec is open source.

It'll takes a while for the software to scan the whole SD card depending on capacity.

Good Luck ;)

Ahh.. Ok.. I was using one program last night, not knowing that it's a demo version. I wasted 4-5hours scanning everything. Found the files, but i couldn't save it, due to the demo version.
:angry::angry::angry:

I will try again tonight. Thanks for the info!

PC Inspector and SoftPerfect cant detect the files in the SDHC. PhotoRec, i dunno how to use it.

This program, detects the files, but it's a demo version.. :(

No point trying Shareware or Demo software unless you want to pay.
All Shareware/Demo software need to pay/buy to recover your files.

Please use PC Inspector or SoftPerfect first.
If it can detect, most probably it'll be able to recover those files.

Oopps.. didn't see in your post that you had tested PC Inspector & SoftPerfect already.

Download latest Photorec from here. No installation required.

Step-by-step to run:

(Partition to recover FAT32 since its SDHC).

Execute photorec_win.exe in the zip file which you'd downloaded.

Wow!
I'm surprised how the program works. My card has only about 20 photos when it got corrupted. Now, the program can recover 1000+ photos!!

Anyway, thanks.. kkleong!

 Good stuff.

Useful. I was finally able to recover a number of photos my ex deleted from the SD card before returning it with the camera to me.

And no they weren't the Edison type of photos hahaha ...

No problem ;)
Glad that it worked for you

The program (Photorec in this case) will try to recover whatever even previous..previous files that had been deleted or corrupted. After recovery, it's better to re-format the card before further usage.
