SINGAPORE: A record five Singapore-made films have been selected for screening at the 12th Pusan International Film Festival.
They are "881", "A-ma", "Invisible City", "Kuaile Gongchang" and "Solos". Of these, "Invisible City" and "881" will be making their international debut.
Roystan Tan's "881" has captured the imagination of local audiences since it opened in theatres in August.
The movie zooms in on the boisterous "getai" (song stage) scene during the annual Hungry Ghost Festival.
It hit jackpot at the box office, raking in close to S$3.4 million to date.
"881" will be screened at the newly introduced Gala Presentation section, alongside movies by luminaries from Taiwan and Korea. - CNA/vm
