Recommended P&S

Hi all,

I am currently using my trusty D70 and am currently looking for a P&S camera that has good feedback and reviews.

I am looking for the following features.

1. 28mm wide lens.
2. IS capability
3. Long Battery Life

Any recommendations?

Well, if you want something that is truely Point & Shoot, you can consider the Canon IXUS series. IXUS 860IS & 870 IS have 28mm at the wide angle.

I would think that the new IXUS 110 IS is slated to take over from IXUS 860 IS & 870 IS in the 28mm wide angle segment.

canon powershot SX110 IS... but the wide angle is only 36mm.. however, it has manual controls such as aperture priority and shutter priority as well as manual functions.. and it's more affordable

fuji f100fd. pretty good IQ in a smaller and cheaper package than LX3. yes to both 28mm and IS.

battery life ain't great (compared with F30/31), but I have not needed to change batteries within one day of shooting so far.

If you do not need manual control, IXUS110 should be a good recommendation;
IMHO, Panasonic had manufactured a few outstanding PnS too.
