At least for me, it stalls as I try to move the sliders. The clone stamp was even worse. Everything stalls the moment I click it.

AFAIK, the sync will only import the pictures... not sure about the develop settings. But if you write develop settings to XMP files, it will definitely be sync in.
The clone stamp will be bad if you do not have enough CPU resources to process it.. As this clone brush is non-destructive as compared to photoshop.
Thanks, looks like I must "locate missing folder".. But it's irritating to have a new folder every single time I sync.. Maybe I'll just keep things on my external hdd for now 
As for clone stamp, it worked perfectly fine on LR3.6. This one, it stalls while loading the brush. Definitely something wrong with LR4. And if you read up online, a lot of people with tiptop hardware have this problem too.
