Recommendations for tripod...

I've just gotten a Nikon CoolPix 4300... Was wondering if i should get a tripod...
I'm hoping to get one that's small enuff, and not too heavy... Any suggestions ..?

Depends on what you want to shoot and how willing are you to carry a tripod around.

Any plans to buy a bigger cam like SLR or DSLR?

No... I don't plan to buy a bigger cam like SLR or DSLR... I'm juz trying to get started in photography... But does what I plan to shoot affects what kinda of tripod I'm getting...?? How so...?

Slik SPRINT PRO...?? seen it mentioned in the forumn pretty often... But I'm juz starting out ... wondered if it's wise to spent that much on a tripod... is the $85 a norm ..?

The kind of pics you want to take will determine whether you will be actually needing a tripod.

If you intent to stay with small cam, can get a slik GM pro as suggested.
