Hi,

I'm currently using D700 with 24-70, planning to change to a more compact sized camera.

Any recommendations? Not planning to go for Sony a7 since with the lens it's actually not that compact.

Thank you in advance!

Changing to mirrorless? What kind of photography are u into?

I think you are referring to Sony RX100 series (latest is version IV)

If you don't need to flexibility of changing lens, compact cameras using the 1" sensor give good quality images in a small package, examples are the Sony RX100 series, Canon G7X series, Panasonic TZ100.

I'm actually into Astrophotography. So would prefer a smaller camera that has interchangeable lens? Would like an all rounder to take on casual trips sometimes, instead of lugging the whole camera bag to a holiday hahaha.

I know that PNS nowadays gives pretty good quality, one of my friend even shot a good image of the milkyway while she was in NZ. But looking more towards slight customisation (Interchangeable Lens).

I would recommend Olympus Pen series (E-PL8?) or OM-D series (E-M1 mark ii?) if you are looking at compact lens interchangeable systems :D

Wow. The E-M1 Mark II seems interesting. Will do some research into it haha. I think I'm more towards Olympus at the moment. We'll see :p

how about use the Olympus PEN-F....Sony Made 20MP Sensor, old style but best up-date result:)

Seems pretty good as well, going to test it out at some shops nowadays :)
