Hello all, I would like to seek advice on recommendation for a PnS camera for traveling purpose since it is kinda troublesome to carry a DSLR around. I was hoping to find one suitable for night shots w/o flash and tripod. Pictures turn out wont be blurry. Any models?

can also try one of those with image stabilisation, vibration reduction models. currently, I'm using the Ricoh R4 (28-200 lens with vibration reduction) as such. Canon Ixus 850 IS also looks promising.

For travel photography I would go for camera with a wide angle of 28mm. Some may prefer to get in close to capture the little nitty gritty details and their choice would be one with a long zoom lense with macro feature. My personal choice at this moment would be the Canon S80. http://www.dpreview.com/reviews/canons80/

Read up reviews of cameras and see which features you like best.
Happy chosing.

I saw 2 coolpix 8800 in the B&S forums. 10x zoom, VR. If you got extra budget, buy the SB-800 and wide angle converter.

TZ1 is a travelling cam;)

Thanks for all the helpful suggestions, i will certainly look into these models.;)

Canon Ixus 850...

why?
it is small/compact
u wont want to carry a big camera when u travel unless u into DSLR
else no point...

it is a 28mm
meaning a WIDE angle shooting.
certain scene u don't need to step back until you falls off the edge

it is a wonderful human face shooting :D

and it got Image Stabilizer...
handshake? not really a problem

enough reason liao

How about the Ricoh R-5?

Try :

Olympus mju I/II (weatherproof )
Contax T2/T3
Nikon 28Ti/35Ti
Minolta Tc-1
Leica Minilux

Load in Fujifilm Velvia and you are good to go!
