Basically using it to record during singing lesson.... its for my mum... her tape recorder keep spoilt... any good ones? good sound quality and built?

alternatively you can go to audiohouse & get those digital recorders, also known as i.c recorders. They have advanced recording capabilities & also allow you to plug in an external microphone for more targeted sound input. As for the price, i got Olympus one for about $100+.. with 512mb space for recording in .wma format, that equals to standard quality up to 8hrs.
