Recommend Telephoto lens

Hi,

Can anyone recommend a cheap and good telephoto lens?
No money to buy 70-200mm f4 L :cry:
Budget around $600.

You can research on the sigma 70-300 APO Macro Super II. Search on this website and the web. Pretty good. Problem is focusing speed but that's more for tracking moving subjects.

Yup, it's a pretty good lens that's rather sharp. It's only around $340, so you save a bit from your budget. I don't think there's any lens below $600 that beats it.

Yes, the focusing is slow & noisy compared to those with USM. But not that slow actually. At $340, U get a hood, lens-case & macro function. What more can u ask for? Or save more & get the famous 70-200 F4. That's my dream also.

70-200 F4L is superb. EF 75-300 F/4-5.6 USM is not as good as 70-300 F/4-5.6 APO Macro Super II.

Very sharp (even when shot open wide @ f4) and good light weight lens for street. Started out with this lens when taking protraits for street photography.

Got some worrying comments on Sigma lenes about the life span. Don't know true or not?

Any good recommendation on other 3rd party lenes for the range of 70-200 or 75-300.
