TIA for your valuable inputs.

Depends on ur budget and what kinda bag are u looking for (i.e. backpack, sling etc)

I will recommend Lowepro Fastpack 250 or Thinktank Urban Disguise Series.. :)

Flipsides don't have compartments for laptops.

UD series with optional harness would be good

hey thanks for all the contribution. i will check them out in a short while.

btw is there any one stop shop you would recommend for me the browse most of the bags?

Tamrac Aero 85 or Adventure 9...

what is the size of your laptop? this is the first thing you should consider first. Do you need any compartment to put your personal stuff other than laptop and camera? What is the maximum weight that you think you can carry? A laptop camera bag can be quite heavy even when empty. Finally, what is your budget? less than or more than $200

kata 3n1 series

Im using Lowepro Fastpack 350. Its good for 1 body + vertical grip and 3 lenses plus a 17" laptop.

Cheers:)

Thinktank Shapeshifter...good for 15" notebook, though I use that compartment to squeeze some of my underwear. The main compartment can fit 3 lens and 2 bodies. I use up 3 lens and 1 body and use the other for my remianing underwear. I complement with a large waist pouch for the rest of my clothes.

same problem here, am looking for a back pack that can contain a d700 + 24-70 f2.8, with a 13inch laptop.
it should be customizable enough for me to make use of some of the unused space to place non-equipment items such as clothes...

shortlisted the following:
Thinktank shapeshifter http://www.thinktankphoto.com/products/shape-shifter-backpack.aspx
Lowepro CompuRover AW http://products.lowepro.com/product/CompuRover-AW,1923,16.htm
Kata 3N1-30 http://www.kata-bags.com/product.asp?Version=photo&p_Id=433
Crumpler Wickey and Cox https://www.crumpler.com.sg/flash/flash.aspx#/english/product-details/whickey-and-cox-wc03a.html

any views or experiences with the bags?

Kata 3n1 series

thanks for the many links.

kata 3n1 series seems attractive with the side draw and the buckle

i am using the crumpler bag..1 thing is that it doesnt allow you quick access to your cam as you have to go thru 2 zippers to get to the camera..another thing is that the 2 pockets at the side are quite tight..you cant squeeze too much things inside..

other than that..it is quite comfortable..i tried carryin it for the whole day with my k-x and laptop inside..dun feel the strain...n it dun look like a camera bag which appeal to me...beside..you can remove the inserts inside (both the camera and laptop) and use it as a normal haversack

Is there any up to date price guide for bags around?

For camera's and lenses info is easy to find but for bags it is not so easy.

I'm using the think tank shape shifter. For laptop, 40D + 17-55mm + 70-200 F4 IS, cleaning kit. (can hold tripod on the outside.)

Extra space is sufficient for weeks of backpacking trips as I usually pack light.

thanks for the recommendation. took a look at the shapeshifter, it sortof requires the detachment of lens for storage. Preferred a backpack that allows storing with lens attached.

anyway i've got myself a karachi outpost (L size) from crumpler. bag is comparatively rugged, big enough for 1 body + 2 mid sized lens + blower/cleaning kit/filters + tripod (hang outside) + afew shirts + afew underwears + a pair of pants + 17 inch laptop + chargers! once arrive overseas, offload the unnecessary stuffs and I'll get enough room for purchasing of new loots!

great bag.
