Recommend a slave flash

My bro ask me to recommend him a slave flash to company his Canon 850 IS, but I am a noob to slave flash. Any good brand to recommend? What are the functions to look for? Can adjust the flash power? Or TTL???:dunno:

which attaches through the tripod mount and synchronises with the Canon 850 IS Elph's built-in flash.

the thing is, both don't seem to be able to tilt/swivel for ceiling bounce... Any other recommendation? Doesn't need to be really compact.

The canon one use CR123 battery, which is costly also. AA size would be prefered.
