Re-Colouring Skies

Just wondering if i could only change the colour of a night sky without affecting the skyscraper buildings in the photo, i've seen photos with beautiful though unrealistic nightsky colours withought having the buildings in the photo be tinted with the said colour cast of the sky, wonders how it is being done...

Do you use Photoshop? The links below lead to tutorials relating to making sky blue and depending on the photo, the same technique may be applied to night sky.

Capture NX slows down my system wayy too much.... and i can't seem to fully understand how to effectivcely use Capture NX yet... which function do i use to recolour skies?
