Hi. Anyone here had experience with random file corruption on the latest SanDisk 64GB CF?

The file corruption can happen during a shoot, reviewing of images or deleting images.

Camera type: Nikon D4.
Firmware: A: 1.10, B 1.10, L 1.009

CF Card: SanDisk Extreme 64GB, 120MBS, UDMA7

Card is definitely legit, bought from TK Foto.

Bought quite a few from TK, no issue. Mixture of 32 and 16 as well.

Thanks for the reply lenslust. I have backed up & formatted the 64GB CF again.

So far it's working fine. I will update again if the problem comes back.

Good to know that, at least not a faulty card.

Get it once in a while with the exact same set up.

I used to encounter this problem before,

What I did was to reformat the card again and the problem is gone.

You might want to try this.

If the problem persist, there might be some issues with the card.

Hi. Thanks to Lenslust, Hacker & Daveheng for all the report.

After shooting continuously for about 600+ frames it came back again, with 3 files which is corrupted & it is unable to be read by the D4.

I have checked it on the PC with a card reader. No issues with the card.

I have formatted in on camera & put it back into to use as a secondary for JPEG storage. I am switching back to the primary XQD card for NEFs storage.

As a side note, I did some read up on other Nikon forums, it seems that 64GB cards does produce file corruption. So far I have no problem with Sandisk 16GB or 32GB CF card on the D4 after shooting for about 2 years.

Also I will be testing the same 64GB CF card on other camera body & see how it goes.

I'll report back later on the findings.

Believe it is the 120MB/S card, not the 64GB size. Older cards work fine.

I have managed to repair / recover the corrupted NEF files with RescuePRO deluxe. ;)

It works & the damaged NEF files can be opened with Capture NX2 after the repair.
