Hi

i never ceased to be amazed at how so many pple are attracted to this "sport".....
you see them playing in public places at the time...

This time, there was a serious competition going on! Observe the trophies on the right hand side of the photo....

Gearing up for the big race...groups of avid racers prepping their toys for the big battle.......i'm surprised to even be able to focus for this shot - the original scene was hardly lit at all by street lamps......

keeping Score.....

Crowds....

Hi

the power of a simple common pasttime to bring a family together - this family has made the sport a family outing!

Flash was used for this one - after obtaining permission from the family to take a few shots of them. Again surprisingly, they ignored me while i was shooting - which was wat i was hoping for.....

Nice photos on the family.

The crowd in the upper left corner of the first shot is a bit under exposed. My attention was drawn to dark areas but could barely make out the detail there.

This is what street photography is about. Capturing facets of everyday life for present and future generations to know what life was like in the streets.

Thanks!

I hardly go out at night nowadays, what with two kids, so I don't see these things. Must admit I was sorely tempted yesterday, what with a dark and WET night, and a 70-200 2.8 lens.

Naw, got a second hand Sigma 70-200 f2.8 EX Apo HSM for $800.
I'm very kiamsiap one.
Anyway, white lens hard not to stand out.
Black lens body easier to remain unnoticed. (so I comfort myself)

Real fast lens.

Where did you get it? Any other unit left?

Bought it from someone who posted an ad on Singnet Classads.

Not a bad deal at all. The price included hood, tripod collar AND a Sigma 1.4X teleconverter. All for $800.

The glass is mint condition. The zoom ring is a bit stiff, but I can live with that.

In the end I bought a B+W 77mm filter from him for an additional $50 (he told me it cost $100, I have no reason to disbelieve him).
