Hi all, any advice on setting a WAN? anyone here have experience on that? say network within the entire NUS campus?

By using normal UTP 100Mbps cable...what are the things to look out for?

Repeaters? # of repeaters allow? Interference?

Any expertise advice?

iirc theory for utp... its every 100m u need 1 repeater.... but actual usage its better to keep it below 90m limit

Aiyoh, this kind of advice can charge lots of money wan... :bsmilie:

Although I'm not a Network specialist, I have a bit of knowledge... What you describe is more like a MAN (Metropolitan Area Network). BTW NUS campus is ringed with Fibre Optics. The last time was using FDDI 10 years ago. Now should be ATM. UTP cannot make it one (clue: check up what is CSMA/CD).
