Questions about Filters.

Hi guys,
At last the forum is back up again! I was wondering how much should i tighten my UV filter on my lenses? I know that CPL filters shouldn't be tighten all the way as you have to turn and adjust for the contrast to take effect.

Just a wee bit tight at 1st resistance

just tighten until it won't drop out easily or come loose by itself.

what madmartian suggested seems just about right.

btw, cpl filters can be tightened all the way, the ring turning is separate from the screwing on. but taking it out is going to be a horror if you overtighten it.

I learnt that the hard way when I did my filter stacking exercise :embrass:
Almost panicking and wondering whether to borrow that filter wrench remover already.

Just turn till all the filter thread is gone but dun over-tighten.
Time to time check whether the filter is loose on the lens..
