Hi guys, I'm not ready to go into macro yet so I'm thinking of buying close up filters..
I chanced upon this seller :

http://http://cgi.ebay.com/Close-Up-1-2-4-49mm-49-mm-Macro-CloseUp-Filter-Kit-/250480748444?pt=Camera_Filters&hash=item3a51d0e79c#ht_1821wt_784

Price seems reasonable. But I have a few question before I proceed...

1) is the brand important? Should I pay more for brand like hoya?

2) if i stack all 4 filters together, will the IQ drop by a lot?

3) should I be better of with a single +10 filter?

Thanks in advance!

Stacking that many filter will certainly degrade image quality, if you are looking for a good close-up filter, then check out Raynox DCR-250

These pictures are shot with a $25 #4 HOYA filter/lens.

Do not stack filter/lens; it'll affect quality and can cause vignetting.
Cool pics! Where u get ur hoya filter? And will I get better magnification if I use +5 and above?

I think hoya makes some dual element close up filter at good prices. Raynox, Canon dual element filters will cost a little more. I have tried stacking 2 Canon 500d together and the IQ is slightly affected already.
