Question with regards to focusing on a D80

Hi all, i've recently purchased a Tokina 11-16mm lens for my D80 but i find that the focus is rather off as in my photos turns out rather soft

anyone have any ideas why?

Hi

I think a sample photo with all the settings will help in analyzing the root cause. Till then, any diagnosis will be sheer speculation.

*note* its a 10 mega-pixel image so it might take awhile to load.

saw the photo, it is sharp consider this is a widenagle lens.

I see, i was worried that it might be due to a faulty camera or lens

but mind telling us which is your focus point? it is the horizon or the bridge railing area?

this photo is sharp. considering the 30s exposure time, a slight breeze or a thump from a footstep near the tripod may set the slightest of vibration on the image but don't see any of it on the image.

i see. but i do see a slight vertical shift on the left and right extreme of the photo. is this normal?
