Question Regarding Storage of Camera

I have a interesting scenario that will be upon me in the coming weeks.
I m going for a 6 weeks overseas trip in Austrialia and I m intending to bring along my D40.
I like to seek advise on the storage of my gear.
Will be staying in a service apartment for the whole duration. (Should be air-con)
I will be putting them in a standard camera bag (LowePro) with sillicon gel pack.

Any other advise for me ?

in Australia you wont need silicon gel/drycabnet
Especially this time of year it is not humid. Like Singapore is.
Just store in bag should be fine
