I find it to be quite loose. Is it normal? Also, It is still rotatable when the camera is not in MF mode. For my sigma, the focus ring will be locked. Thanks.
 

Quick Shift? Allows the focusing ring to turn even if lens is in AF mode. I think it is mentioned in the lens manual.

Ooh, so that's quick shift. Thanks. But its a bit too loose in my opinion; like very easy to accidentally move it. I thought it is supposed to be a bit damped.
 

Yup.. It's because of the quick shift...
Which I kind of like, cause I sometimes don't agree with my K10D's AF.
A pity Sigma lens dun do it though... :(
 

I'm quite interested to learn more abt this quick shift thing. During my Olympus days, we have this setting on the camera body call SAF+M(Single autofocus + Manual) where by you can AF first and if you feel not right, you can continue to precise it with MF. All lens works with this function.
