Hi guys,

I currently own a Canon 350D and am thinking of upgrading to either a 40D or a 5D.

Can my current battery grip for my 350D (BG-E3) be used on either 40D or 5D?

Also, can Canon 430EX be used on either cameras or do I have to get 580EX?

Thanks for helping with my questions! :)

Regards

No, the battery grip is different.
40D grip is BG-E2
5D grip is BG-E4

Whether to use 430EX or 580EX is determine by flash power and not type of camera. If you want more power flash, you need 580EX. All EX flashes are compatible to Canon DSLR.
