Whats the difference between a picture shot at f22 and f2.0 if in both cases the shutter speed was adjusted accordingly so both pictures have the same exposure?

Roboter22, you use large aperture opening (i.e F1.8 or F2.0) to throw distracting background out of focus

Shooting at different apertures gives you different DOF. In addition, sharpness may vary across aperture. Lens may be soft wide open and diffraction may set in at very small aperture.

There are other issues like flare, CA, star burst effect and stuffs.
