Hi,

I got a question. Most cameras now shoots at saves at 300 DPI.

What happens when i saved it at a higher DPI. Would there be more noise/ quality loss? Does it help if i am printing a bigger poster, editing a picture, etc?

Appreciate answers to this question. Thanks.

(Yup, i know it increases the file size ;) )

It doesn't matter.

The DPI do NOT change your files resolution - so you don't loose or gain anything. It's something that comes from the publishing & printing world and is an instruction how the printer should interpret your picture. But then again - any printer can override it and ignore it.

In short don't worry. Unless you publish, like Getty, and they want you to set your images to a specific DPI setting. Which I do at export - it's part of my Lightroom settings; so I can't forget it and don't worry about.
