As part of the islands expendition, I am organising a trip to Pulau Ubin. Prior to that, we had already conquered Pulau Hantu, St John Island and Sisters Island.

Departure Date : 6 October, Saturday
Time : 1530 hrs
Return Date : 7 October, Sunday
Time : 0900 hrs
Venue : Changi Jetty
For those who are driving, you can go straight to the jetty to meet us. For those who are taking MRT, alight at Tanah Merah MRT and then take bus no. 2 to the jetty.
Cost : $2.50

This is a very special outing, not the normal one. I am orgainsing a one night stay outing. It is a camping cum photography outing.

I will settle the permit thingy to stay overnight at Pulau Ubin.

Things to bring :

1) 1.25 litres of water (at least)
2) dry rations
3) Tripod and all your gear
4) Sunglass / Sun Block lotion
5) Insect Repellant
6) Tent / Sleeping bag
7) Torchlight

What do we shoot at Pulau Ubin?

Sunset, sunrise and Astrophotography.

Scenic, Birding and Macro photography shall dominate.

Come and join us for a nature walk, and photography as well as mingling around with fellow photographers.

Why not? It doesn't matter whether you own a PnS or DSLR, etc. All we want is to have fun.

Sounds interesting.

How would the logistics be like? So we probably need to lug our 'camping' gear around while shooting around the island right? Can't bring my 5kg solid solid safari bed along.

Yes, it is indeed very interesting outing.

I will try to minimise logistics fatigue. No, I dun think that we want to bring 5kg safari bed there.

Maybe a tent is much lighter. Once we have scouted a good location, and set up my base, we can go and shoot.

Therefore, I would like to call upon help on tents set up or rental, etc.

USM, which area do you intend to set up base ? Noordin beach ? Another ( comfortable ) alternative is to book the chalet at Ubin, showers, bed, aircon.

The chalet/ resort is still operational.

http://www.marinacountryclub.com.sg/location.html

The downside of the location is that it's rather far from main Ubin kampong village. About half an hour walk away for me.
Accomadation's very comfortable but makan's :thumbsd: & ex.
Anyway, thats me experience. :)
Never try never know.
