Hello Bros,

Have another way to protect your lens the cheap way.
I got a fatherly friend who, when he goes out shooting, will bring a few BABY DIAPERS. aka PAMPERS along and wrap the lens up wif this and place inside the lens bag: This is very useful in 3 WAYS:

1 ) Baby diapers are THICK, it absorbs impacts very well, and adds as added protection when used wif lens bags.

2) Baby diapers are dessicants also: They have silica gel-like materials inside and helps absorb moisture: See it as portable dry cabinets wif protection.

3) Baby diapers are CHEAP: They cost from 15cents to 50cents, depending on whether they are (L type or 3rd party..figuratively speaking:bsmilie:)

Kalau ekonomi merosot dan harus berhemat, pake pampers aja! hebat!
If qian bu gou yong, just use the PAMPERS to wrap the lens and throw it in your bag!

Happy saving!

Cool. Some entrepreneur or already existing bag companies can use this to market professionally with just simple adjustments to design and colors using same diaper material and branding it!. Then sell for $30 each for Portable Lens Protection Wrap with built in silica gels.LOL

Hi Kandinsky you are funny.

Hi Gunawan, thanks for sharing. It's a very cool solution and unusual. May try your method.:)

I'll also like to add that a diaper bag is the ultimate stealth camera bag. Nobody is going to try stealing that, especially if your wife and baby are in tow.

Haha, sounds very interesting. But what if I catch a hot date and she finds all these baby diapers in my bag?

Don't worry, nothing says "taken" more than a man carrying a diper bag...

Then again, some women think married men are more sexy... forbidden fruit and all that sheet... :bsmilie:

Hey hey Lee, You're spot on! never thought of that! That'll be point 4 of my above thread!
When u bun up a lens wif diapers, people would think of the gooey and smelly baby poop inside and that'll really deter thieves...

Anyway, I find it good way to save money, and diapers do not attract dust.

Will share more economical tips once I come across em.
Happy saving!:rbounce::rbounce::rbounce:

I have to say, if you're buying cameras and lenses and accesories surely the economy can't be treating you guys that badly, right?

Agree to that. The one-time expenses for camera and equipment are always easily done. But the maintenance efforts are neglected usually. A proper bag and care cannot be replaced by whatever cheapo stuffs.
Would any of them here agree if they bring the car for oil service and the mechanic is filling up with some el cheapo oil of doubtful source? But if it just the camera then diapers and napkins are an option. Weird.
Better move it to Kopitaim ...
