After going thru the abstract and still section, feel inspired to take some photos. Therefore decided to try to set up and have a go at it.

1. in what area is critique to be sought?


Feedback on composition, lighting, details.

What can be done or tips to improve on the picture and subject?

2. what one hopes to achieve with the piece of work?

To showcase the lens and the details of the lens.

3. under what circumstance is the picture taken? (physical conditions/emotions)

Taken with an A4 size white paper for the background and a study lamp as lighting.

4. what the critique seeker personally thinks of the picture

I think the right of the picture is slightly overexpose due to the source of light shining on it. Details of the subject is quite sharp.

a slightly bigger picture might be better for viewing.

lighting seems a little harsh.. and too near. composition wise..can be more creative and interesting.. now it just seems very ordinary.

edit, thanks flipfreak for the bigger photo.

lighting is very one sided and a little harsh, maybe use a diffuser or reflector next time...
if you're only using one flash try bouncing it from the top instead of just one side to help minimise the shadow..

also you seem to be on a very small aperture, generally product shots will be with a small aperture to ensure the whole thing is sharp.
