Problems opening Bridge 3

OS is Windows XP with SP2
After installation of CS3 extended, cannot open Bridge, error message comes up as 'Unable to open Adobe Bridge and has to close down...........do you want to report the error to Microsoft................'
Photoshop 3 opens without problem. Trying to open Bridge 3 from Photoshop generates the same message.
Have uninstalled and reinstalled it twice, each time with the same problem.
I have CS2 still on the PC. I think that there may be a process running in the background that is preventing Bridge 3 from opening. Have down loaded updates from the HELP tab in Photoshop.

you could try uninstalling Bridge CS2 if you think it might be interfering...

can't run bridge on my xp as will.... have a runtime error...
