try on the noise reduction.
using wat iso? 200 would be fine.
understand the exposure of the cam first. do a few trial shots for the "correct" exposure that u want.

the title of the thread misleads others into thinking that it's the problem of the camera.
did you mean each time exposed for 5 sec ? the moon is a pretty bright object, 5 sec will probably overexpose it even at f/29.
you should try using spot metering instead of matrix.
alternatively, take a few shots and merge with photoshop.

For shooting moon, exposure should be 1/125 or 1/60 of a sec in f/16 & iso100/200 regardless of full or half moon(I think) & zoom range from your lens. Just try that out when there's clear sky on that night. Anyone out there, do correct me if I am wrong. Cheers mate & keep on improving.;p

thank all of you:D
jnet6/ yes, the iso is setting at 200

kc/ sorry for the title ,'ii try on spot next time
---
spectrum/not possible on high speed due to manual exposure
'll try on 1 sec:D

Trust me on that dude. The more you magnify the moon the faster shutter you will need to take the pics. Common sence will tell you, the moon is a satelite orbiting around earth. So what this tells you? Think my friend.;p

Oh cajuca, what Spectrum said is correct. Go and try first, you will get what you want.
Even you can try shooting night scene with the moon together. you will get the scence very nice but the moon always over expose.
