Hi, I been using an Aipo 30L dry cabinet for quite some time. Lately off it for few days cos I was shifting. When i turn it on again,the display just keep running 998877665544332211 non stop at first, after a few days it finally stop and display looks ok. However when I try to set to the desired humidity of about 45% it just doesn't go down. It is always at a night of 50plus, 60 plus randomly. I tried to look for Aipo service center but seems like nothing is showing up where I can bring it for servicing. Is there any place I can troubleshoot or service it? Is it worth the repair? Or should I just junk it?TIA

I don't really know how aipo cab is constructed or wired. I'm guessing it's similar to other brands.I think the display is faulty but the dehumidifier unit is still functional? You can try buying a standalone hygrometer with temperature readout from Sim Lim Tower.Prices range varies but cheapest are around twenty something dollars.Use this hygrometer as reference to see if humidifier is working or not. I recently repaired a Digi-cab 30L of 8 years which now is working perfectly after replacing a high voltage capacitor from the power supply circuit and red LED.There is a thread on it.
EDIT: Forgot to mention that the battery in the display panel needs to be changed by this time?

I guess that's one reason to try to stick with brands with longer history of local support? If they go out of business can't be helped, at least it's less frustrating than knowing they are still operating elsewhere after withdrawing from your market.
It may just be a problem with the hygrometer. How about putting a standalone hygrometer inside to monitor and compare?
The switch off might have triggered something in the electronics, or it's the typical lose contact after shifting / shaking.
For repair advice, we need to know the exact type. There are two main types of dry cabinets in the market: actively controlled and uncontrolled. More details here:

If you have the uncontrolled version (only the knob at the back of the unit) I would bet the electronics have given way after the switch off. You can just ask the shops in MY (see above) whether they can ship you the small unit (not the entire cabinet). A screwdriver is all you need for swapping out the box with the knob at the back of the cabinet.
For the actively controlled version, there are several possible problems that can cause what you describe. I would start with the smallest item: the RH reader / display where you set the target RH. Check any contacts that might have come lose. Next, search for a replacement part (ebay, shops in MY).

Keep in mind: dry cabinets are not airtight. Using aircon in the room where the dry cabinet is placed will cause fluctuations in the RH reading.
If you like, do the salt test to determine how accurate the second hygrometer is.

But then, a tolerance of 5% won't do any damage to equipment, especially if you use it regularly.
