Hi, as you know, The England Prince has been in SG for 1 day already, today, he and princess come to queentown block, which is near my place.

after taken an one day leave just for taking a shot of the prince William, and I got some good ones with My Pentax Kx and Tamron 500mm f8 mirror lens.

here is the share of this moment of it at Singapore.

here is route, https://maps.google.com.sg/maps?hl=en&q=blk+62A+strathmore+ave&ie=UTF-8&mid=1347427120

the prince come into the block zone at the start point, I stand at the end point, far distance at 50meter, neareast point to me is 2 meters away;

I have Pentax MZ-7 with Tamron 17-35mm with me as well, but the film may take some time to finish and develop and scan. so the Kx shots first.

Here is 2:15pm there. inbetween the blocks's playground zoon, not many people as it is weds, but still 3 layers of people surrounding the zoon. I am in layer 2.

Nice series. You should post this in the Reportage section instead ;-)

ha ha, my shot is not good enough for reportage, just share some fun that you can have with pentax gears.

You too modest. They are good enough for reportage. At the end of the day, it's all about the photos, not the camera gear :D

You were so lucky to be able to come and check on them while they came by exactly by my place (yes, it's out Blk just beside the playground, some of you guys should remember this place ;)) but I couldn't take off from work :(. My wife took some nice videos though :)

Those kids in school uniforms are from my son's kindergarten

well done. totally enjoy your photos of the royals!!

Thanks for sharing Sunny...looks crowded! And you provided the obligatory 4D number too..:)

This is an awesome thread. Reminds me of a chance encounter I had up close with Prince William's father, Prince Charles while I was on holiday with family in England some years back.

OK I confess, I was using a Canon 1D Mk II and not a Pentax then...

Nice shots, bro.

My wife just couldn't stop talking about William's visit yesterday. I guess it's not so common to see this kind of celebrities coming by an HDB neighborhood :)

Nice thread. It's about capturing the moment(s).

Poor old Charles. He always looks so worried. That's a great shot Denis.

Went for kranji memorial trip today but the 300mm was not long enough to take a shot as i went late :( tried adding a x2 converter but the quality is not ideal at all sadly

Stumbled upon the motorcade around town twice yesterday :p

BTW if I'm not wrong the Nikon lens you pointed out is a 200-400mm f/4 lens, which my US photojournalist friend says is extremely popular with the pros for the flexibility in the field, since the new cameras can do well at higher ISOs so no need for the f/2.8 tele primes
