Dear guys,

I took a shot of this striking fella at using some modeling lights from a couple of studio lights.
f2.8, 55mm, 1/40s, ISO800, D70.

Wonder what you think about the framing, and the b/w processing. Is it too striking?

Thanks

That's a great shot. Simple, strong, effective. Excellent model.

I'd prefer some separation from his head from the background. Unflattering reflection on his forehead too. Why not shoot at a lower ISO and pull the lights back instead? Was a lot of sharpening done?

unfortunately it was shot using the modeling lights, which aren't strong enough to allow me to reduce the ISO. In fact, the shot is quite out of focus, so yes, alot of sharpening was done.

I really like his eyes - as if they are looking into mine (BTW I'm not gay)

I like the shot. Well done. I would think that more props would be good. I.e If he was a plumber, doc, etc. Apart from that, lighting's great!
