pls help on scanner recommendation

hi my budget under $1000 but i want to have a dedicated flim scanner, anybody can tell me what i should buy?? and what is the price if u know anyone selling second hand pls tell me also

Minolta Dimage Dual Scan III is pretty popular and it costs around $550. It does not have the "dust/scratch removal" capability though unlike the higher end scanners. However, if you clean your slides/negatives before scanning, it should be ok.
