There may be an underlining reason why things are like this there for the past 20, 30 years, if the SPF close the place down, the activities will just go underground and this will make "policing" them even harder. The SPF prefer to have them in one location so that they can "control" them. It is belived that the SPF also goes there to gather information from their sources. Of course, no official reply will state these reasons as they are just "hearsay" and I got this "hearsay" from a client whose "hotel" is located there when I went there to shoot the "hotel" some years back.

Is sort of a necessary evil. You can isolate it in one small particular enclave or have vices spread rampant throughout Singapore.
Nothing much the government can do or will be willing to do except conducting random small scale raids from time to time as a symbolic nature of futile deterrence. Anything more for the Specialised Crime Division (SCD) will result in them bursting their fiscal year budget which is already minimally allocated for such purposes.

Part of Geylang is a known red light designated district. Not sure if Jalan Suka is.
If not, then it suffers from spillover due to nearness to Geylang brothel area.
The authorities have a problem.
If they move the red light area away from Geylang, then to WHERE?
Selfish Singaporeans complain when an old folks home or a smaller room type (1 or 2 room) block is planned next to their house.
If they no longer allow designated red light district, then rapes may rise, tourism may drop, money will flow out to Malaysia, Indonesia and Thailand for those seeking commercial sex.
Their problem is worsened because large numbers of foreign workers are mostly male and seeking sexual release. Not all can afford top tier prostitutes. So they go around places like Jalan Suka to look for freelance foreign girls on the road side.
Don't hold your breath that this problem at your house will be solved anytime soon.
This problem may end for Jalan Suka if Singapore becomes very poor, Singaporeans can no longer afford even the lower tier foreign prostitutes and instead, our Singaporean girls have to go overseas to work as prostitutes. Did that last statement hit you? Then spare a thought for the poor foreign girls on the road side in the photo. They are doing it for survival because their country did not look after them well enough.
