I'm thinking of getting EOS M however I heard that there's a improved version launching soon.

Is it a good time to get it now?

Please advise.

TKphoto $680 (drop by $100 since I last bought it)
New 11-22mm lens not available

neh don't think so... didn't ask, i was just gunning for 11-22mm lens

no stock :( asked when stocks are coming in, and they say not for a while...
probably canon won't bring it in till next shipment ?

if i remember correctly, its $500+ for adaptor+one lens
and $680 for 2lens+flash ? best you call TKphoto and ask for the latest price

i need some advice guys

i might get the adaptor instead of waiting for 11-22mm lens

what sort of aftermarket lens are available ? and what should
be looking out for ? total newbie here. just want to push myself
further and get more lens. From my basic understanding, the adaptor
allows all EF and EF-S lenses from Canon and only Canon lenses ?
other lenses from Tamron, Sigma etc not able to fit ?

I can't seem to get real sharp pictures compared to others who
have posted here. (wrong lens? wrong settings with 18-25mm lens
that came with the EOS-M ? shaky hands maybe ?)

You mean 18-55mm lens? Maybe share your settings of the last 2 photos? Sharpness is indeed not there.

Hi you can consider Sigma 8-16mm, sharp lens with nice color but is big & heavy compare to EFM 11-22.
I'm use it most of the time on my EOSM.
If your image is not sharp can be due to low shutter speed or not in focus ( EOSM dont focus well in strong back light)
For low shutter speed shooting, EFM 11-22 is better cos of IS...Sigma 8-16mm dont come with OS (same as IS in Canon term)
Hope this help you to deciide :)

I got the 11-22mm from SLRPro in Sim Lim Square, quite awhile back already....

it appeared you dont know well of setting, dont get more lens, till you know how to use of camera & settings, then you will develop what lens to get later...for walkabout lens, 18-55 is good enough.....

with large sensor in EOS-M, you might want to increase your ISO to get sharp picture and eliminate the hand-shake issue...

thanks for the input !!! Really helpful .

I need to practice more and you are right, I _do_not_ understand the settings

Most of it are on auto / presets. Fiddled alot with settings and just snapped away for no reason

I get pretty good sharpness of subjects, but most of it turns out "orange" in colour. Had to fiddle
with the settings to get it more "natural"

I love pictures posted by others, colours are sooo vivid ! an for that, I can not achieve at all :/

You can get 11-22mm from Click! Funan 4th floor. Got it from them earlier this week :)

Hi, try to shoot more, understand your cam and you will get better photo in no time :)
Try Av, Tv mode instead of P then go Manual if you are ready. You also can try to set the sharpness to higher level in your picture Style, if you want more sharpness..
I dont really encourage you to adjust the saturation level (in manual WB) to get the color you like cos is not that user friendly as other Canon DSLR that come with 'K' value setting but you can try it.. happy shooting :)

My first shoot with the EOS M and 22mm lens.
