Nice. Clarity is as good or better than Oly 2040! More more!!

My colleague bought one today...play wif it for a moment.

The pix seems to be more saturated than those from Oly.

Difficult to compare leh...unless both pix r taken at approx the same subject. Somehow I feel that the Oly has a 'true' color.

A bit difficult to tell because (1) difference place and (2) different size (3) weather may be different. It was raining heavily yesterday and noon time was quite cloudy..

A better one would be to compare your pic with my 2nd one which is a close-up of my 1st pic. Yours, the colours looks more saturated than mine.

But comparison is still difficult unless we both go on a shoot together and shoot the same thing.

take something else leh...enough buildings liao...people, flowers etc. One thing both A40 and C2040 owners can take to compare saturation, find a Maxell diskette box and take the color rings printed on the box, then post here.

fcpga,

very nice pictures.

If you have been following my quest for a new DC, you wld have known that I wanted to get the C2040 :). Alas, no one will selling 2nd hand and I was on a budget and hence settled on the A40.

I believe quality of pictures very much depends on the photographer (of course a good camera makes it easier). Don't think there is inherently anything bad with the A40. Its just me :). I believe with practise and experimentation, I will be able to shot pictures as nice as yours.

Not sure whether you could post the settings used in those pictures... esp the night shots. Thanks.

p.s. are u aka Oly on hardwarezone?

yes i am.

show us some night shoot from A40 as well.

I think its quite a good camera also, and slightly cheaper than C2040. If it has SP and AP with more aperture settings, its the perfect 2 megapixel.

but nothing is cheap and Green :)

next time will post the settings as well.

Here's a nite shot taken from my home. Its nothing exciting. Just thot I share with people who are considering getting the A40.

F2.8, 10 sec exposure, ISO50

The exposure metering is perfect! Very nice.

Thanks :). I took abt 10 pics with varying the ISO and exposure settings. So its really trial and error. This one looks the best. What I am happy abt is that there is no noise or hot pixels.

Thanks for the photos, it is good quality to me. I am going to buy this camera over the weekend.

btw, you stay in Bishan st 13? I also stay bishan, in st 22. :)

nice shots ... copland

A40 is really a value of $ ....

somehow I find this thread full of 2040 shots instead of A40 ...

like it was mentioned in other threads, it does not have shuttle/aperture priority (which in some sense are pseudo-auto features).

I am happy with the camera :).

Give us time, once the A40 base builds up, there will be more pics of A40.

Hey, A40 users out there, lets flood this thread with pics :)

hummm .. should I go back to A40 after A20 ?
big question .. overall the A40 look better than A20 ..especially with the 15 sec exposure..
;)

but I still don't like the macro shot  ..

Do you take a lot of macros or plan to specialise in macro photography?

If you have the A20, you should already know how taking macro with the A40 is like. Can you live with it?

Actually if you sell your A20 and top up $200+, you can get the Oly C2040.
