Picture A Hope (PicaHOPE)

Picture A Hope is a programme to see photography lending a hand to raise fund to better the lives of less fortunate and to create opportunity for the needy to live a different life!

For our first programme, we are producing a Digital-postcard of Singapore for sale to raise fund for a computer school for our neighbor country island, Batam. All proceeds raised will be used to set up a free computer training centre that provides free basic computer skills to the many IT illiterate adults in Batam with the focus of equipping them for better job prospects. With the support of numerous volunteers, the framework of the Digital-postcard has been established. The final product Digital-postcard is scheduled to be on sale around Christmas this year.

The Digital-postcard will consist of approximately 250 images of S’pore with selected printable images of various file sizes up to 8R sizes.

In addition to seeking for cash sponsorship, our imminent concern is to select 250 images for the D-postcard. We are looking for suitable postcard images of all tourist attractions, cultural aspects and different festivities in Singapore.

Since this is a low-budget volunteering programme, we will be depending on the free contributions of photographers for the use of their images. Each individual will be accordingly credited for his/her contribution to our programme. As a token of appreciation, photographers will be given a Digital-postcard for their images used. Permission will be obtained from the photographers for the use of the images outside this programme. The decision of the photographer will be respected. A legal binding agreement will be signed between the photographer and fundraising committee on the rights of the images.

The Digital-postcards will be priced between $10 - $15. The CD will be distributed in Singapore at premises where we could get sponsorship of advertising space and media such as selected bookshops, and Changi airport where there are high visitor traffics.

If you wish to contribute photo of Singapore or want to support our PicaHOPE programme, kindly contact Gwen at gwenphoto@gmail.com . More technical details and criteria will be sent to interested participants.

Who are We?
We come from all walks of life and professions, and we are volunteers with HOPE worldwide (Singapore) because we believe in making in the difference in people’s lives.
HOPE worldwide is a non-profit charity, headquartered in Philadelphia, the city of brotherly love. HOPE worldwide's mission is as simple as its name: to bring hope to a hurting world. We began our work in 1991 with just 3 simple programs and now serve the poor in 75 nations on all six inhabited continents. With a global pool of committed volunteers, HOPE worldwide annually serves more than 2 million needy people.
HOPE worldwide is a faith-based charity founded in 1991 by the International Churches of Christ. Its non-sectarian programs serve disadvantaged children and the elderly, provide education, and deliver medical services in developing communities. HOPE worldwide is a recognized non-governmental organization in special consultative status with the Economic and Social Council of the United Nations and is a registered private voluntary organization with the United States Agency for International Development (USAID).
We treat the sick, feed the hungry, house the homeless, comfort the downcast, educate the poor and provide loving homes for the abandoned. Our work is produced by faith, prompted by love and inspired by hope.

Yup... that's one of it... No offense... But CS members need to be informed. :embrass:

I went to a church long time ago that did not handle money well...

Interesting ...didn't your previous church has a auditor or accountancy firm to go through the account and such?

I am fine with the posting, and there is nothing to hide cos' this is a clear, and honest announcement. As for money wise, it is transparent and information is available for whoever is interested.

:D
