wah, very cool shots. just wondering, did u use a very wide angle lens for the expo mrt shot?

Hi Yang Fei,
i saw ur webpage photos...very stunning !! Unfortunately some photos are not able to see..Will all these photos be exhibited in ur exhibition?

Oh mine... singapore has become so beautiful thru ur eyes..

i was trying to find some angle for the expo MRT, but couldn't.. how i wish i can have ur perspective...

thanks for your inspiration.

Guys, thank you so much, I am encouraged by your comments.

Raid, I agree with you, it’s a difficult decision whether to include people in the Wheelock shot. I first came at 5PM, the security stopped me: no camera please. I walked away and came back at 7Pm, I happily discovered the security guy was gone.

When I kneed on the ground and pointed the big camera upward, I did not get anyone to pose. everyone looked at me, and the roof top. To be safe I took more than 10 shots, some are un-manned.

you need to shoot at around 7:20PM to catch the dusk blue. Normally I arrive at least 1 hour earlier to position my camera.

To hotsshooter: thank you for visiting my exhibition website. If u got problem viewing the pix, right-click mouse, select “show pictures”, you should be able to see them. My Singapore exhibition was in March 2005, it’s already over. I am trying to contact the National Library on a new possible exhibition. Once confirmed I will make a noise in the forum.

To 1911: For the Expo shot, the lens is Sigma17-35mmF2.8-4, set at 20mm. I use EOS 1ds Mark II camera body set on tripod, Gitzo 1227 MK II with Velbon 273 ball head. Some street shots were done by a pocket DC, Canon A620.

----------------------------------------------------------------------------------

This is a little aside. I wonder if someone would be interested to participate in an 8-day Tibet photography tour this July. I am now working with PSS to organize the trip. The group will be limited to maybe 10 members. I will be the photography guide for the Tibet trip.

FYI, I have just finished a book about travel, love, and photography in Tibet, 100K words with 150 photos. It can be read online here: http://www.999kg.com/tibet.htm The book was written in Chinese, I am not good in English writing, sorry for those who cant read Chinese, you can see the pix anyway.

I will be visiting Jakarta 11 -16 January. So see you guys later.

Email me at yangfei999999@hotmail.com if you have further questions.

can you also post some jakarta's photos... im indonesian... and i wanna see jakarta through your lens... thxxx

Nice photos!

S'pore never looks so nice. Esp pic #2 on page 1 and the shot at wheellock place

hi starwanderer,

need to seek your advice, i noticed several shots, in particular your mosque and raffles city shot, your lines are very straight and parallel to the edge of the frame, did you use tilt lenses or did you software to offset those converging lines?

great photos by the way, you shame all of us who say there's nothing much to shoot in singapore. thanks for sharing your works.

hi yang fei, very inspiring photos. :)

looking forward to see more!

Thank you all, once again.

To Archlover, I am just back from Indonesia, will upload some pix soon.

To YOYOYO: lens distortion can be easily fixed by Photoshop CS filters (distortion adjustment).

Thank you hotsshooter, I am looking for a good publisher for my book now. The market for Chinese books is not so good here in Singapore, I will firstly try to get it published in China or Hongkong. You may wish to drop me an email yangfei999999@hotmail.com, I will keep you updated once the book is available.

Yang Fei,

Last year (or the year before) I attended your exhibition on your work, any plans to organise one this year too?

BTW, have you bought your dream 1DMK2 yet??? :D

Thank you Jeffhiew. I acquired a Canon 1ds Mark II last July, EF28-135IS is still my primary lens.

New exhibition I will try, but time is really not on my side. Most of the time I travel in China, schedule is very tight, I have to make a living thru photos. Under pressure of surviving.
