i just found out that photoshop software costs $900, why is it so expensive? Anyone can recommend a cheaper software?? where to buy? thanks
 

why not consider the baby version -- elements... 90% of the father

and it cost below 150 dollars with your student card

amang the 10% difference, which is imt to me is a 'real curve' as opposed to a 'simple curve' -- and this simple curve is only available in the latest ver. of elements...

u can try out gimp, a free software, which has almost all the features of ps
but maybe a little difficult to use. ;)

I'm using Elements, got it free when I bought E500.
Is good enough for many enhancement stuffs. Very happy with it.

Because photoshop is a software for professionals, and if you're not a professional and would like to work like one, you'll just have to pay for it.

It's just like a PnS user asking, why is dSLR so expensive?
The difference between Microsoft Paint and Adobe Photoshop is just like the difference between a cheap PnS and dSLR.

Challenger selling the Elements5 (academic and student versions) for $108.

Challenger still selling OEM vesion of PS Elements 5.0 for $49 (member price). There are still a few copies left at Challenger IMM at the payment counter the one further in from the entrance. I don't know if it's available in other branches.
