I dunno whether this is the right place to post. Mods, feel free to move this where appropriate.

I have a picture with a car and a background. I just want the car. What tools should I use in Photoshop?

Thanks in advance. ;)

use magic wand... which usually doesn't work... in that case you'll have to use paths. think you can search the net on how to use it.

Use the extract tool.

U can try using magnetic lasso to "outline" the object that u wan and then cut and paste it. ;)

Delete the surrounding background

1. select the object with any selection tools.
2. Go to menu SELECT/FEATHER/OK
3. Go to SELECT/INVERSE then press DEL on your keyboard.

Hope this helps.

If the car has a very distinct color from the background, and you are using PS 7, use the magnetic lasso instead of the normal lasso. It is much easier. Don't forget to select feather first before you start selecting the car...

what is the extract tool?

Filter - Extract

Or Alt + Ctrl + X

More control over your selection.
