Citing the difficulties of the stock photography business, PhotoShelter CEO Allen Murabayashi has announced that the company will be closing its stock site, the PhotoShelter Collection, on October 10, 2008, though as of today the dismantling of the service is already underway. He indicates that the PhotoShelter Personal Archive will continue, that PhotoShelter is on solid financial footing and that new archiving features are to be unveiled this fall.
